While serving in Ghana, Benjamin lived two hours, by dirt road, from the closest city in a village that lacked electricity, running water, and mobile phone service. His primary project was teaching science and chemistry at a rural village secondary school near the Ivorian border. As a secondary project, Benjamin created small-scale community rabbit rearing programs for income generation, for protein supplement, and to reduce pressure on local wildlife.
