Aimee completed her Peace Corps service in Nicaragua as a community health volunteer. During her service, she designed and implemented a 12-part Reproductive Health Series for adolescent school children, wrote a grant that provided funding for a Stove Improvement and Wood Conservation Project and helped establish a women's group that worked to create a small business and community vegetable garden. In addition, she led community educational campaigns on a variety of health issues and worked in library development. Through her two years in Nicaragua, Aimee learned the grave importance of sound health education and the impact it can have on families and communities.
